Pittsburgh is Alive with The Sound of Music!

What a Wonderful Show next door at the Benedum Theater is The Sound of Music! Jennifer Hope Wills is outstanding as Maria. She is charming and sweet and has a voice that can win your heart as she does to the Captain played by Robert Cuccioli. Lisa Howard is remarkable as she duets with Maria as the Mother Abbess but it is the Children that really got my attention on Opening Night Tuesday 7-19-2011. The 7 Von Trapp children are mostly Pittsburgh's own students of the CLO Academy and/ or CLO mini stars. WOW! These kids are bright and energetic. They are wonderfully talented as they harmonize while dancing and flitting about the stage. These CLO stars had me watching and wishing that I could see them again as they are just Delightful! It ios nice to know that through a grant from Giant Eagle, our children may go to see this production at HALF Price! That is a very kind thing to do. I love the Story and the music, but also I had a wonderful time because I and my Mother, Theresa were able to go Opening Night. Some of the Songs you will recognize are "Sixteen Going on Seventeen", "My Favorite Things", Maria", "Do-Re-Mi" "Edelweiss" and of course "So Long, Farewell". It is a Super Show and it does run rather long. The 8 pm is out near 11pm with one 20 minute intermission. Please call me today to make your reservations at my restaurant, F. Tambellini's for dinner at 6 ish at 412-391-1091 and who knows, the Stars may just stop in to eat zucchini again! Thanks, Janet
